Governor's Common Core Standards Survey
As you are aware, the Governor is asking parents, teachers, community members and other constituency groups to provide input and comment on the Common Core Standards which Utah has adopted as part of the Utah Core Standards. This input is being invited via the following website:
ALA Ranked Among Utah's Top 5 Highschools
American Leadership Academy was recently named the fifth-best high school in Utah by U.S. News & World Report.

The ranking is based on scores from Advanced Placement language and math tests and student-to-teacher ratios. Of more than 31,000 public high schools in the nation, 38 from Utah made the best high schools list, and ALA was awarded a silver medal.

Elementary News

Homecoming Week Elementary Participation, September 15th-19th. 2 dress down days!
The elementary students will be participating in two dress down days next week in support of the upper grades' Homecoming week. Monday, September 15th will be pajama day, and Friday, September 19th will be "Spirit day." If you have questions about dress down days, please call the elementary front desk.
Picture Day is Coming! Thursday, September 19th. Picture packets will go home with students on Monday, September 15th.
Pictures will be taken in the Elementary gym from 8:30 am until about 1:00. All students will have their picture taken for the yearbook and ID cards, but purchasing picture packets is optional. Please send students to school with their filled out picture envelope including payment. Parents can pay online. Please see picture order form for details. Students must be in dress code for picture day.
ALA Fall Carnival is Saturday, September 27th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Lots of fun for everyone! Come enjoy the games, silent auction and delicious food!
Term 1 ends on Wednesday, October 15th. All students will be released early that day, at 12:25 pm.
Fall Break-NO SCHOOL, on October 16th and 17th.
